e-Courses Development Project at the University of Jeddah

Project Idea

The "Fourth Generation Courses" project is a sustainable project in response to the University of Jeddah Education 4.0 initiative to be the executive part responsible for transforming the course development part of the initiative's vision into a reality in accordance with international standards, the standards of the National Center and international best practices, where the MicroLearning strategy will be used in the development and delivery of courses.

Fourth generation course levels

Regular education course level

A course that adopts the face-to-face teaching style in providing education, and technology supports and improves the educational process.

Blended course level

A course that depends on two teaching styles: “face-to-face” and “distance-based”, with distance teaching rates ranging between 30% and 50% of the entire course.

Distance education course level

A course that adopts the face-to-face teaching style in providing education, and technology supports and improves the educational process

Project goals

Developing university curricula in accordance with the vision of the University of Jeddah Education 4.0 initiative
Enhancing modern teaching and learning strategies in the developed courses
Creating an integrated framework to ensure the standardization and sustainability of course development
Enabling academic colleges to participate in the development of their curricula in easy and clear ways.

Project outputs

  •   Develop 50 e-courses at the basic level

  • Develop 50 e-courses at the blended level

  • Developing 20 e-courses at the distance education level

  • Qualifying 150 faculty members and providing them with the skills to develop their university courses online
